Luna 25 is the first mission in modern Russian history to travel to Earth’s natural satellite since the Soviet probe Luna-24 was launched in August 1976. This automatic station will be responsible for verifying the presence of frozen water that could support life on the lunar surface. Additionally, it will help determine whether the lunar poles are ideal locations to build future habitable bases.
